Linnhe Lochside Holiday Park

Lochside pitches are the defining feature of Linnhe Lochside Holiday Park, a large caravan park just outside Fort William on the road towards Arisaig. Tents and campervans are welcome beside Loch Eil, a saltwater loch, with free fishing from the shoreline pitches. It is an established holiday park rather than a semi-wild campsite, with toilets, showers and a shop selling beers and wines. Dogs are welcome, and campfires are permitted along the shore.

The camping areas offer different settings, including pitches overlooking the water and others sheltered by birch trees. Tent pitches are non-electric, with online booking available for tents sleeping two to four people; larger tents require direct contact with the park. Free showers and a dishwashing room add practical comforts for campers. Corpach has a railway station, pub and restaurant, around a 30-minute walk away, while a brewery is also within walking distance of the campsite.

For an outing combining local history with a canalside walk, head to Neptune’s Staircase at Banavie. Its eight linked locks raise the Caledonian Canal by 19 metres, and the Great Glen Way passes through the area, with walking and cycling paths alongside the water. The West Highland railway crosses the canal at the foot of the lock flight, adding another point of interest for railway enthusiasts. It makes a useful contrast to days spent fishing at the park or exploring the hills around Fort William.
