Basic campsite set within the dune of Traigh Uuige on Ardroil Sands Beach where camping is possible with a semi-wild feel. The site has a modern toilet and shower block, car parking and an extensive grass area for tents and campervans. The site is located on Ardoil Beach which is a huge white sandy beach where wild swimming is possible (although it may take you a while to reach the water on low tide, or find any depth when you do as the sand is relatively flat and goes for miles). Locally you will find Carnish Beach which is another stunning white sandy beach and also Uig Sands Restaurant which serves up delicious sea food with incredible views. For whisky lovers, you will find Abhainn Dearg Distillery a short 30-minute walk (or stagger) away (the most westerly whisky distillery in Scotland), tours can be booked online via their website. Pre booking pitches is not possible and the site operates on a first come first serve basis, there is an honesty box to pay, after that pitch up and enjoy the views. The site is run by the local community.

Calgary bay is a large white sand bay with crystal clear waters with a small semi-wild camping spot located just behind the beach. The site is free (donations welcomed) where there are several fire pits and benches (wood is available to buy at the entrance of the site, alternately please bring your own fire wood. There is a small basic male and female toilet, that is about it for facilities. Calgary is located around 18 miles north of Tobermory and is quite remote, make sure you stock up on food before you set off. There is a hotel, café and gallery a short drive from the site or a fairly decent up-hill walk if on foot. The water is perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding if the weather if favourable. This is a semi-wild site, the grass it cut by sheep and as such can leave dropping around, I would advise a ground mat for your tent if you plan a visit which is much easier to clean than your full tent. Campervans are not permitted, this is a tent only site however parking is possible for cars at the campsite carpark.

Located on the island of Arran at the foot of the Arran mountains this campsite has basic facilities and is likened to wild camping but with a toilet and washing up area. The site does allow small campervans however there is limited space and as such any camper vans should contact ahead, tenting groups of 4 or less do not need to pre-book. Camp fires are aloud and fire wood is for sale at the site, wild swimming is possible in pools on the Rosa burn which flows next to the site or the famous Glen Rosa blue pool is only ½ mile away.

Ardgualich Farm campsite is a basic but rewarding family run campsite located on Loch Tummel a short drive from Blair Athol & Pitlochry. There isn’t any official website or Facebook page but instead we have linked the latest Google Reviews where you will find people highly rating this campsite every year including 2023. The campsite has a few static caravans and is located on a working farm but don’t let that put you off because if you head in a little deeper you will find some stunning waterside pitches on soft grass that give direct access to the loch. There is a basic communal toilet and shower block and two areas for pitching up, upper level (with hard standing) and waterside. Wild swimming is possible directly from the campsite, there is no launch charge for those looking to bring their own small boat and no licence is required for those looking to fish. The Loch is famous for being regularly visited by Queen Victoria where you will find a visitor centre a short walk away. There are plenty of walks located nearby with Cobbs Café also walkable from the site where you can get your caffeine and cake fix. The town of Blair Athol and Pitlochry are both a short drive away where you will find shops, cafes, pubs, Blair Athol Distillery and Edradour Distillery who both offer daily tours.

Silversands located on the golden sandy beaches of Arisaig is the perfect campsite for those looking for a quiet escape. With views overlooking the Isle of Skye and Small Isles and excellent access to local beaches with crystal clear waters there is ample opportunities for wild swimming or kayaking. The site has 18 touring pitches, mostly on hardstanding. Showers, toilets and electrical hook up is available. The village of Arisaig is a short drive away where you will find a local shop, Traigh Golf Course is just beside the site and larger town of Mallaig is around 7 miles North where you will find Restaurants, bars and a ferry services to Knoydart, Skye, Small Isles and boat charters for whale watching. Small campsite located on a links golf course looking out towards the Moray Firth at the mouth of the famous whisky water source, The River Spey. The site caters for campervans and tents with a toilet and shower block available for use, there is also a clubhouse with a bar and restaurant where campers can fill up on food and drinks. Special rates are available for those looking for a round of golf on the links course or for those looking to wild swim, a beach is located directly across from the campsite. The site is located on the East Coast 250 driving route and nearby you will find coastal walks, small fishing villages, castles & plenty of distilleries to visit. Tigh-Na-Mara Campsite is located down a quiet single track road near the village of Arisaig with sunning coastal views of the Small Isles and the Isle of Skye. The campsite has its own small golden sandy beach directly beside the campsite which is perfect for wild swimming or launching your kayak. There is a mixture of hard standing fully serviced pitches for campervans with the front pitches having stunning uninterrupted views. A large flat grass area is dedicated to tents and there are a couple of glamping pods available for hire. The site has a new purpose build toilet, shower and washing up area (very clean and very modern). Campfires are permitted so long as they are raised from the grass, alternatively there are beaches nearby where campfires are possible (so long as you bring your own wood and ensure the fire is below the high tide mark). Locally you will find an abundance of stunning beaches, a few golf courses, the village of Mallaig (where boat tours are possible and ferry services operate). The village of Arisaig is around 2 miles away which has a shop, restaurant and bar. Tigh-Na-Mara is a fantastic campsite for those looking for a quiet, laid back, friendly site with stunning views and clear swimmable water, we highly recommend a stay. Torridon camp site is located at the entrance to the village of Torridon off the A896. it is open all year round. There are no charges, but donations are welcome. It is sheltered site with a toilet and shower. This is a tent only site and has 30 pitches, 30 min walk to a pub and a shop within 1 mile.

There are pitches for a small number of motorhome pitches adjacent to the township's community hall along with an area to pitch a tent, the number of spaces is strictly limited. Strictly no overnight parking in the halls/cafe car park. Visitors with vehicles must use only those areas which are clearly designated: Please never park on verges or beaches, which causes erosion, or on grazing land, which puts stock at risk. Water tap; one disabled toilet, open 24 hours, in the community hall. Community Hall Cafe run by volunteers, serves locally-made teas, scones, cakes, and snacks daily. No facility for treating chemical waste on site, visitors camping here should use the Chemical Waste Facility in Eoligarry. Payment for the pitches is made via the on-site honesty box (pre-booking is not possible).

This family run site is for tents only and even offers up a cooked tasty breakfast hand delivered to your tent in the morning. With some of the best sand dunes in Scotland located closeby, the Haddo country park and an abundance of small fishing villages to explore there is plenty to see.
