Helpful Search Info

Most of the search criteria is self explanatory however to help clarify and make searching easier we have created this simple guide. 

  1. Scotland is split up into various different council areas (shown on the location map), you can search for campsites in a specific area by selecting the council area in “Location”. 
  2. The “Average Rating” is the rating given by you our website visitors on a given site. 
  3. Multiple options for “Campsite Setting” can be selected, for example if you were looking for a campsite located on a beach, on an island but also near a town then you can select all three and you will be shown the results. 
  4. “Whats Nearby” is determined by a reasonable walking distance of around 30 minutes from the campsite. 
  5. In “Other”, bookable online means that the full booking process can be completed on the campsites webpage, semi-wild is a site with limited facilities (normally just a toilet) and a wild camping feel, our top picks are our personal favourite sites in Scotland.
  6. For “Routes” more info on each can be found on our essential info page.
