Thurston Manor Leisure Park

Thurston Manor Leisure Park is a large holiday park at Innerwick, set in a wooded valley at the foot of East Lothian’s Lammermuir Hills. Its extensive facilities give it the character of a full-service family holiday park rather than a simple touring stop. Accommodation includes grass tent pitches, electric grass touring pitches, fully serviced hardstanding super-pitches, motorhome spaces and glamping pods. Dogs are welcome, and the March–November season allows for spring, summer and autumn stays.

There is plenty on site for days between outings: an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, fly-fishing lake and several children’s play areas, alongside a sauna and steam room with seasonal availability. Modern toilet and shower blocks cover the practical essentials, while a shop, bar and restaurant, and entertainment venues make it possible to spend much of the day within the park. Dunbar offers a change of pace, with independent shops and cafés on its High Street, two historic harbours and castle ruins overlooking the entrance to Victoria Harbour. John Muir’s Birthplace explores the life of the conservationist, while Belhaven Bay and John Muir Country Park provide options for coastal outings. For a defined walk, Dunbar’s Cliff Top Trail runs for 2½ kilometres from the harbour to Shore Road beside Belhaven Bay, following coastal paths and promenade. It includes steps and a steep initial climb, useful considerations when planning a family walk. This is an outing from Dunbar, rather than a route beginning at the campsite.
