Lagnaha Campsite

Lagnaha Campsite at Kentallen no longer operates as a commercial campsite. Instead, it offers a possible overnight stop for people travelling without motor vehicles, whether on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The owners will try to accommodate these travellers with space for a tent, fresh water and toilet facilities. This is an informal arrangement rather than a conventional campsite booking: advance reservations are not accepted, and enquiries by telephone or email should be made no earlier than the day before arrival. There is no accommodation fee, but visitors are expected to contribute towards a local charity.

The setting between Oban and Fort William puts Lagnaha within the west-coast landscape of wooded glens, mountains and sea lochs, with Duror Forest directly behind the farm. Kentallen’s cycle connections are particularly relevant for those arriving under their own steam: the route towards Ballachulish follows sections of the former railway, with views across Loch Linnhe towards Ardgour and Morvern. These are features of the surrounding route, rather than promised views from a tent pitch.

For a separate walking excursion in the wider area, Glencoe Lochan has a one-mile circuit on a generally firm path with gentle gradients. Its Woodland and Mountain trails offer more demanding alternatives, with rougher ground and steeper sections; the Mountain Trail has views over Loch Leven towards the Ballachulish bridge and Morvern.
