Keith Caravan Park

Keith Caravan Park is a small site in the town of Keith, combining a rural setting with access to shops, pubs and restaurants. There are hardstanding pitches for caravans and a grass area for tents and short-stay campervans. Pitches are fully serviced, and practical facilities include a modern toilet and shower block and washing-up sinks. Dogs are welcome. It suits visitors looking for a town-based stay with woodland walks and Speyside’s whisky heritage on the agenda, rather than a remote camping spot.

Keith has plenty of interest beyond its distilleries. Mid Street is home to independent shops, cafés and pubs, while the Auld Brig over the River Isla gives a glimpse of the older town. For a walk away from the streets, Reidhaven Square is a starting point for a circular route taking in the Falls of Tarnash and Dunnyduff Woods. Balloch Wood offers another option, with forest tracks and an ascent through the trees to the open ground of Meikle Balloch hill. These are outings to plan from their respective access points, rather than routes starting at the campsite.

Strathisla Distillery, the home of Chivas Regal, is the local choice for whisky tours and tastings. For a different perspective on the surrounding countryside, the Keith and Dufftown Railway follows an eleven-mile heritage line between the two towns, with travel dependent on its operating timetable. Its Keith Town station is separate from Keith’s mainline station on the Aberdeen–Inverness railway, a useful distinction when planning a day out by train.
