Scurrival Campsite

Small laidback campsite located in the north of Barra in an open field where camping is possible with a semi-wild feel. Although the campsite is not located directly on the beach we have still given the site “beach status” due to only being 100m away. There is a toilet, shower, kitchen and hang out room available for campers to use in a recently renovated old house within the campsite. With plenty of excellent walks nearby and an abundance of beaches this is the perfect site if you are looking for a semi-wild feel but with modern facilities. From the campsite you can walk the mile-long white sandy beach, traigh Scurrival, which extends onwards to several other beaches and links to the famous Traigh Mhor Beach Runway (the only commercial beach runway in the world). Castlebay is a short drive away which has a ferry link to Oban. The town also has a pub, a co-op, Barra Gin Distillery & Barra sea kayaking tours and rentals. There are plenty of beaches around which are perfect for wild swimming with fires possible on the beach below the high tide mark (you must bring your own wood and kindling).
