Luss Campsite

Luss Campsite occupies a lochside setting in the village of Luss, with 90 pitches for tents and campervans. This is a large village campsite rather than a remote retreat, combining a position on the banks of Loch Lomond with local places to eat and drink. A toilet and shower block serves residents, dogs are welcome, and booking is available online. The season runs from 1 April to 31 October. There is a pub within walking distance and restaurants locally, while water sports in Luss add another option alongside walking and cycling.

The village paths offer several ways to explore without committing to a hill day. The River Path follows Luss Water past meadows, while the Quarry Path passes traces of the mills and slate workings that once supported village life. The Luss Heritage Path links the village, riverside and surrounding countryside into a circuit taking around an hour. For a shorter woodland outing, the Luss Glebe Loop explores meadows, oakwoods and the loch shore behind the church. These are village routes, rather than walks confirmed as starting within the campsite.

Cyclists can explore the West Loch Lomond cycle path, which passes through Luss on its route between Balloch and Tarbet. It combines lochside stretches with sections beside the A82 and minor roads shared with traffic, so it should not be mistaken for an entirely traffic-free trail. Along the route, views extend across Loch Lomond’s islands towards Conic Hill and Ben Lomond.
