Pennygown Holiday Park
Quick Read Campsite Summary
Pennygown Holiday Park is a family-run coastal campsite on the Isle of Mull, with spacious pitches looking towards the Sound of Mull. Tents and campervans are welcome, with a mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches and electrical hook-up available at each pitch if required. The practical facilities include toilets, showers, washing-up space and a laundry block. Dogs are welcome, and glamping pods offer an alternative to bringing your own camping equipment. Online booking is available.
For a meal away from the camping stove, Glenforsa Hotel is a short walk away, with a bar and restaurant beside the airfield. Its restaurant focuses on local produce, while the bar has sea views. Glenforsa Café and Farm Shop offers another local option for brunch, lunch and browsing island food products and crafts, in a riverside setting just beyond the campsite when travelling from Craignure towards Salen.
A bus stop outside the park gives campers a way to reach Tobermory without taking their vehicle. The harbour town’s distillery offers whisky experiences, including tastings of Tobermory and Ledaig; advance booking is advisable. For a separate walking outing, Aros Park on Tobermory’s outskirts has woodland trails, waterfalls and viewpoints across the Sound towards Ardnamurchan. These are walks to visit while exploring the island, rather than routes starting at Pennygown itself.
