Black Rock Caravan & Camping Park

Black Rock Caravan & Camping Park is a small riverside site in Evanton, north of Inverness, combining a village setting with access to woodland walks. It accommodates caravans and campervans on serviced hardstanding pitches, with a grass area for tents and glamping pods as another option. A modern toilet and shower block and a separate washing-up area cover the everyday practicalities. Dogs are welcome, and stays can be booked online. Evanton has a Co-op, bar and restaurant, so there are village amenities to hand rather than a remote Highland setting.

One of the most useful features for walkers is access to Evanton Community Wood via the campsite, beside the bridge over the Allt Graad. The community-owned woodland covers around 65 hectares behind the village, with maintained paths, a pond and a woodland play area. Black Rock Gorge gives the park its name: this deep, narrow chasm can be viewed from a wooden footbridge, with the river running far below.

For a separate hill walk, the Fyrish Monument is a distinctive local landmark. The Jubilee Path begins at the monument car park on Boath Road, climbing through woodland, crossing burns and emerging onto open moorland. Its three arches and four towers stand above the Cromarty Firth, with views across the water and towards the North Sea. This is an outing from its own trailhead, rather than a route starting at the campsite.
