Bunchrew Caravan Park

Bunchrew Caravan Park occupies 20 acres beside the Beauly Firth just outside Inverness, combining a coastal setting with the practical layout of a large caravan park. There are over 125 level pitches for tents and campervans, with toilets and showers on site. Dogs are welcome, online booking is available and the season runs from March to November. Its location suits a stay before or after the North Coast 500, the touring route which begins and ends in Inverness.

For a day away from the driving, head into Inverness and explore the Ness Islands. These wooded islands in the River Ness are linked to the riverbanks and one another by Victorian footbridges, with paths winding beneath mature trees. They offer a distinctly different walk from the firth-side setting at Bunchrew. Whisky enthusiasts can visit The Singleton of Glen Ord at Muir of Ord, where distillery tours and tasting experiences explore the whisky-making process; advance booking is recommended.

For dolphin watching, plan a separate outing to Chanonry Point on the Black Isle rather than expecting sightings from your pitch. The point extends into the Moray Firth between Fortrose and Rosemarkie and is an established place to watch bottlenose dolphins from shore. An incoming tide can improve the chances of seeing them, although sightings are never guaranteed.
