Uig Bay Caravan and Campsite

Uig Bay Caravan and Campsite is a small coastal site combining sea views with access to Uig’s shops, pubs and restaurants. Campervans have hardstanding pitches, while tents occupy a large grass area, with electrical hook-up available for both. There is a toilet and shower block, dogs are welcome, and the site opens year-round. The Isle of Skye Brewery is next door, making its shop a convenient stop for locally brewed beer.

A short walk along the coast brings you into Uig, where there are places to eat, shops and bus services. The ferry port adds another dimension to a stay: sailings connect Uig with Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist, making the campsite a useful stop on a wider island-hopping journey. For exploring locally, Uig Wood has three separate sections, taking in shoreline woodland and the steep-sided glens of the Rha and Conon rivers.

The Shore Wood path links the community hall with the village shop and post office along a largely flat gravel surface. Rha Glen offers a different outing, with steps and narrow sections leading to a two-stage waterfall; care is needed beside the steep drops. In the hills south of Uig, the Fairy Glen provides another landscape to explore, with small conical hills, rocky outcrops and lochans. Waterproofs and suitable footwear are worthwhile, as the ground can become wet and muddy.
