Sunnyside Croft Touring Site on the Arisaig coast has a direct path to a golden sandy beach, rather than pitches directly on the shore. Campervans use hardstanding pitches, some with electric hook-up, while a small grass area accommodates tents. Communal toilets and showers serve the site, and an outdoor shower is handy for rinsing off sand and saltwater after a beach visit. Dogs are welcome. For visitors interested in wild swimming, the beach offers access to the sea, though conditions need assessing on the day.

There are several ways to explore this stretch of coast beyond the beach at the site. Traigh Golf Course, around a mile away, has nine holes laid out on ground rising above the sands, with an outlook towards the Small Isles. Its contours and coastal winds add to the challenge. At Camusdarach, a separate coastal walk begins at the beach car park at Glenancross, following dune paths onto shell-sand beaches. The 3.75km route explores a shoreline used in the film Local Hero, with views towards Eigg and Rum.

Further afield, Mallaig offers ferry connections to Armadale on Skye and to the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum, Muck and Canna. An island excursion needs planning around the relevant timetable: the Small Isles services do not always allow a same-day return to your chosen island.

Highly rated campsite located on the stunning Arisaig coastline where you will find some of Scotland most stunning beaches with equally stunning sunsets. The site is suitable for campervans and tents with a communal toilet and shower block available for use. Campervans are situated on hard standing pitches (some with electric) and for tents there is a small grass area to pitch up. Although the site does not sit directly on the beach there is a direct patch leading you down to a golden sandy beach where wild swimming is possible (there is also an outdoor shower for washing off all the saltwater and sand when you get back to the site). There is a stunning 9-hole golf course just 1 mile away and Loch Morar a little further (the deepest fresh water loch in Europe). Further afield you will find the town of Mallaig where regular ferry service operates to the small isles, Skye and Knoydart (where you will find the Britain’s most remote pub). Arisaig is all about the golden beaches and crystal clear waters, with an abundance of stunning swimmable beaches all along this coast you will be spoilt for choice with a range of companies offering kayaking tours. Note, the campsite is open from the start of March but only for self-sufficient units as the facilities do not open until 27th March.
