Strathfillan Wigwam Village

Strathfillan Wigwam Village combines a working-farm setting with woodland surroundings near Tyndrum, in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. This family-friendly site welcomes dogs and offers glamping pods alongside an open field for tents. The village operates all year, with tent camping in summer. Its location makes it a useful stop for West Highland Way walkers, while the farm setting gives families a different focus from a conventional touring park.

Campers have access to toilets, showers and a communal kitchen, with fire-pits provided for campfires. An on-site shop sells produce and camping supplies, so there are options for putting together supper without heading into the village. Woodland walks, a waterfall and the Allt Auchtertyre are within a short walk. Tyndrum is around 45 minutes away on foot, with places to eat, shops and bus and rail connections.

For exploring the wider glen, the Inverarnan–Tyndrum section of the West Highland Way combines riverside stretches with woodland and mountain country. At Kirkton Farm, the route passes the ruins of St Fillan’s Priory and its graveyard, adding a historical stop to a day’s walking. The hills south of Tyndrum include Ben Lui, Ben Oss and Beinn Dubhchraig, all Munros: these are mountain outings rather than casual campsite strolls. Tyndrum itself has two railway stations, making rail travel another way to explore beyond Strathfillan.
