Seaward Caravan Park

Seaward Caravan Park overlooks Kirkcudbright Bay on the Dumfries and Galloway coast, combining a small-park setting with facilities for family holidays. There are grass tent pitches, spaces for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, and glamping lodges for those travelling without their own accommodation. Sea views and direct shoreline access give the park its coastal character, while dogs are welcome. The park’s season runs from 1 March to 31 October, with booking available online, by telephone or by email. Dhoon Bay beach is a short walk away, while Kirkcudbright is around 2.5 miles from the park, making it a straightforward destination for a separate outing rather than part of the campsite itself.

Kirkcudbright’s artistic heritage gives a town visit a particular focus alongside its harbour. At Broughton House, visitors can explore the former home and studio of E A Hornel, one of the Glasgow Boys, and see paintings by Hornel and his contemporaries. The Japanese-inspired garden extends towards the River Dee, adding a contrasting setting to the house’s galleries and original interiors. It is a useful option for a day devoted to the town’s art and history rather than the coast.
