Grandtully Station Campsite

Grandtully Station Campsite is a small woodland site between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, with a strong connection to the white-water paddling on the Grandtully rapids. There are hardstanding pitches for campervans and an open grass area for tents, alongside a communal toilet and shower block and electric hook-ups. Dogs are welcome, and pitches can be booked online. The village is a short walk away, so eating out need not involve taking the campervan off its pitch.

The rapids are also within a short walk, offering the chance to watch kayakers tackling this stretch of the River Tay when paddlers are out. White-water rafting is available through local operators rather than through the campsite itself. For food and drink, the Inn on the Tay is within walking distance, while the Highland Chocolatier adds a distinctive local stop: its chocolate shop, lounge and small exhibition explore artisan chocolate and how it is made. Guided chocolate tastings are another option, with advance booking worth considering.

Walkers have the Rob Roy Way passing right by the campsite, making it a useful overnight stop on the long-distance route between Drymen and Pitlochry. There is also a walk over the hills towards Pitlochry, rather than simply a roadside stroll. For a contrasting outing in the Grandtully area, St Mary’s Church has a rare seventeenth-century painted timber ceiling depicting saints, proverbs and angels—a striking interior within an otherwise modest Highland church.
