Witches Craig Caravan Park

At the foot of the Ochil Hills, around three miles outside Stirling, Witches Craig Caravan Park is a small, family-run site with the National Wallace Monument close by. Hardstanding pitches accommodate campervans, while tents have an open grass area, with electric hook-up possible for both. Dogs are welcome, and the park opens from 1 April to 31 October. Toilets and showers are complemented by laundry and dishwashing facilities, undercover cooking shelters and a motorhome service point, making it a practical choice for both tent campers and touring visitors.

The National Wallace Monument is a short walk from the campsite, and the surrounding Abbey Craig woodland offers an outing beyond the tower itself. The Wallace Way climbs from the monument car park past wooden carvings interpreting Stirling’s history, while other trails reach viewpoints over the city and towards Stirling Castle. The woodland walks do not require an admission ticket, though some paths are steep, uneven or muddy, so suitable footwear is worthwhile.

Stirling Castle, around three miles from the park, adds a different chapter to a history-focused stay. Its Great Hall, ramparts and recreated Renaissance palace interiors give visitors plenty to explore; the Royal Palace was a childhood home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Closer to the campsite, an ancient roadway leads towards Blairlogie, while the University of Stirling campus offers walks around its loch—useful alternatives when you would rather spend the day on foot than head into the city.
