Port Ban Holiday Park

Port Ban Holiday Park sits directly beside a sandy beach near Kilberry, west of Tarbert, with an outlook across the water towards the Isle of Jura. Tent and campervan pitches make the shore the focus of a stay, while glamping pods offer another accommodation option. Rock-pooling, fishing and beach walks are among the attractions, with opportunities to take your own canoe or boat onto the water. Wild swimming is also possible, depending on sea and weather conditions, and campfires are permitted on the beach.

For a local history outing, the Kilberry Sculptured Stones collection at Kilberry Castle contains 26 carved stones, ranging from early Christian grave-slabs to late-medieval cross fragments. Tarbert offers a different excursion, centred on its sheltered natural harbour and the medieval castle ruins above the village. The path up from Harbour Street forms the beginning of the Kintyre Way; visitors can explore the castle grounds, community woodland and orchard without committing to the long-distance trail. From the elevated ruins, views extend over the harbour and towards Loch Fyne.
