Leachive Caravan park

Leachive Caravan Park is a small, family-run campsite in the fishing village of Tayvallich, North Knapdale, with views across the water and visiting sailing boats adding to the coastal character. Grass and hardstanding pitches accommodate tents, touring caravans and campervans, while microlodges offer an alternative for those travelling without their own camping equipment. There is a toilet and shower block, and dogs are welcome. The camping season runs from April to October, with bookings taken by telephone or email.

Tayvallich has a pub, restaurant and café, so there are places to eat beyond the campsite. The village also has a passenger ferry connection to Craighouse on Jura, offering an island excursion for those who plan around the sailing timetable. Checking operating dates and return sailings is important before arranging a day across the water.

For walking, nearby Taynish National Nature Reserve offers a contrasting landscape of oakwoods and coastal paths. Its Woodland Trail follows a mostly level, well-surfaced route through temperate rainforest, while the more strenuous Barr Mor Trail involves steep climbs to viewpoints above the reserve. Coastal trails lead towards the southern shore. The reserve car park is two kilometres south of Tayvallich, reached by a single-track road which is unsuitable for large motorhomes—a useful consideration for touring visitors deciding how to explore. These are walks within the reserve rather than routes starting at the campsite.
