Fraserburgh Caravan Park
Quick Read Campsite Summary
Fraserburgh Caravan Park sits directly above the town’s sandy beach on Aberdeenshire’s north-east coast, combining a small seaside campsite with shops and places to eat a short walk away. There are 22 touring pitches with electric hook-up and eight tent pitches without electricity, alongside a modern toilet and shower block. Dogs are welcome, and bookings are taken by telephone or email. The season runs from 1 April to 31 October.
The beach is the main draw, whether you favour a walk along the sand or watching the surfers. Surfing and wild swimming are options here when conditions are suitable, while Fraserburgh’s centre has cafés, pubs and restaurants for time away from the shore. The combination of beach and town makes this a practical choice for visitors who want coastal camping without being remote from everyday amenities.
For a longer walk or cycle, Fraserburgh is one end of the Formartine and Buchan Way. Following former railway lines, this largely level, off-road trail runs inland towards Strichen and Maud, where the network branches towards Peterhead and Dyce; there is no need to tackle its full 53 miles in one outing. Another distinctive town landmark is Kinnaird Head, where the original lighthouse was established in 1787 within an existing castle—an unusual piece of engineering that connects Fraserburgh’s built heritage with its maritime history.
