Findhorn Bay Holiday Park

Findhorn Bay Holiday Park is a small park overlooking the bay, beside the Findhorn Foundation and community and a short walk from a sandy beach facing the Moray Firth. It accommodates campervans and tents, with glamping pods offering an alternative to bringing your own camping equipment. Dogs are welcome, and campers have access to communal toilets, showers and washing facilities. Touring pitches can be booked online, but tent space is limited and must be arranged by telephone before arrival.

The neighbouring community adds a distinctive dimension to a stay, with an organic food shop selling gifts and books, and a café serving organic food. Findhorn village, around a mile away, offers further places to eat and drink, a bakery and a village shop. Beach walks are an obvious option, while paths from the village lead through the dunes to the shore. The village’s narrow lanes and older cottages are also worth exploring between outings along the coast.

For wildlife watching, Findhorn Bay’s extensive sand flats and marshes provide a different landscape from the open beach. Depending on the season, birdwatchers may see curlew, oystercatchers and other waders, with pink-footed geese using the bay during autumn, winter and spring and ospreys visiting in the warmer months. These are opportunities around the bay rather than guaranteed sightings from a pitch. Whisky enthusiasts can also plan a visit to Benromach Distillery at Forres, a short drive from the park, where tours explain its traditional whisky-making process.
