Ardmair Holiday Park

For a walk with a different perspective on the coast, the Ullapool Hill circuit begins at the town’s Clock Tower rather than at the campsite. The four-mile route climbs above the village for views over Loch Broom, with an optional steep diversion to the summit. Paths are rocky and uneven in places, so this is a hill walk rather than a gentle town stroll.

For another outing, Corrieshalloch Gorge lies 12 miles from Ullapool. Woodland paths lead to a Victorian suspension bridge and a viewing platform overlooking the Falls of Measach and the deep gorge below. The contrast with Ardmair’s open shoreline makes this a worthwhile change of landscape: sea and mountain views at the campsite, then enclosed woodland and falling water at the gorge. The paths include steep sections, which are worth bearing in mind when planning a visit.
