Kilvrecht Caravan and Camp Site offers a semi-wild woodland stay above Loch Rannoch in Highland Perthshire. Tents and campervans are welcome, with camping spread across four areas: Central Field, Riverside Field, Back Field and Lower Field. Open grassy spaces and pitches among the trees give the site its back-to-nature character, with woodland and birdlife central to its appeal.

Facilities are basic, including a toilet block with cold water only, so come prepared for a simple camping stay. Dogs are welcome and booking is available online. Barbecues must be raised off the grass, while campfires are not permitted; additional barbecue restrictions may apply during periods of high wildfire risk. Kinloch Rannoch, three miles away, has places to eat and a small shop for supplies.

The Carie woodland trails can be reached directly from the campsite, offering walks above the loch and through the gorge of the Allt na Bogair, with ancient Scots pines and views towards the Black Wood of Rannoch. Loch Rannoch also offers fishing for trout, pike and perch, with a permit required. For a mountain outing, Schiehallion is a popular local Munro approached from Braes of Foss. There is also the lower-level Foss Loop, an alternative to the summit ascent that explores the developing native woodland on the mountain’s lower slopes.
