Feughside Caravan Park

Feughside Caravan Park is a small, family-run campsite in the valley of the Feugh in Royal Deeside. Its 20 spacious grass pitches accommodate touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents, while a further 10 hardstanding pitches cater for campervans and motorhomes. Dogs are welcome, and practical facilities include a laundry building and a toilet block with heated showers. Barbecue blocks are provided for guests using their own barbecue equipment, although open fires are not permitted. Online booking is available.

Banchory is a short drive away, with fly fishing, woodland walks and golf among the options in the surrounding area. For a woodland outing, Scolty offers paths through forest dotted with old stone walls, remnants of its farming past. The ascent of Scolty Hill to the Burnett monument is a more demanding undertaking: the route is steep and rugged, distinct from the gentler trails through the woods below. These are outings to plan separately rather than routes described as starting at the campsite.

East of Banchory, Crathes Castle offers a contrasting day out, combining a 16th-century tower house with a walled garden and sculpted topiary. Painted ceilings are among the castle’s notable interior features, while the estate adds woodland and nature trails to explore. Some trails are affected by storm damage, so the available routes should be checked before setting out.
