Deeside Holiday Park

Deeside Holiday Park combines a peaceful setting in the southern valley of the River Dee with access to Aberdeen and the countryside of Royal Deeside. Grass tent pitches and hardstanding touring pitches cater for campers, campervans and motorhomes, while glamping pods and lodges offer alternatives to bringing your own accommodation. Woodland and open green space give the park a relaxed character, with facilities geared towards families as well as couples and touring visitors. The park opens all year.

Heated toilets and showers, family bathrooms, accessible facilities and a laundry cover the practical essentials. Children have an outdoor play area and an indoor games room, while dogs are welcome and have an on-site walking area. Peterculter offers shops for provisions, and Aberdeen adds a wider choice of restaurants, shopping and city attractions without committing every outing to a countryside excursion.

For walking and cycling, the Deeside Way passes through Peterculter on its Aberdeen-to-Drumoak section, following stretches of the former railway line; join it in the town rather than assuming a route begins at the park. Drum Castle at Drumoak makes a contrasting outing, with a medieval tower, later Jacobean additions and a walled garden tracing the cultivation of roses through the centuries. Its estate also contains the Old Wood of Drum, a surviving fragment of ancient oak woodland, with trails offering a reason to spend time outdoors as well as exploring the castle.
