Braemar Caravan Park

Braemar Caravan Park combines a village setting with access to the hills of the Cairngorms National Park. This small campsite has serviced hardstanding pitches for campervans and a flat grassy area for tents, alongside glamping pods. Facilities include a modern shower and toilet block, washing-up facilities and an on-site shop. Dogs are welcome, and the park is open all year. Braemar’s pubs, restaurants and shops are a short walk away, making it straightforward to head into the village for supplies or an evening meal. Walking around Braemar need not mean tackling a Munro. The village’s waymarked routes include a circuit through Morrone Birkwood, where birch woodland gives way to open scrub dotted with juniper. Creag Choinnich offers a shorter but steep hill walk, with panoramic views from its 538-metre summit. There is also a riverside route following Clunie Water and the Dee, giving visitors several distinct options without committing to a high mountain day. These are routes around the village rather than walks described as starting at the campsite.

For a whisky-focused outing, Royal Lochnagar Distillery at Crathie offers guided tours and tastings exploring its traditional production methods and royal connections. Advance booking is recommended, particularly during busier holiday periods, and winter visits can be affected by weather-related closures.
