Marina Bay Holiday Park
Quick Read Campsite Summary
Marina Bay Holiday Park combines a sandy beachfront setting with the convenience of staying in Peterhead itself. Also known as Peterhead Lido Caravan Park, this small coastal site has a mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches for campervans and tents, alongside glamping pods for those travelling without their own accommodation. Shared facilities include toilets, showers and a washing-up area, and dogs are welcome. The opening season runs from April to December, with online booking available.
The beach is central to the park’s character, offering shore walks and opportunities for wild swimming and watersports in the marina bay when conditions allow. Peterhead’s shops, pubs and restaurants are a short walk away, making it straightforward to combine time by the water with meals and everyday shopping in town. For a contrasting outing, Peterhead Prison offers visits inside the former jail, with opportunities to explore its cells, wings and landings and learn about life behind bars.
For a coastal excursion, the Bullers of Buchan lies roughly six miles south of Peterhead. Its collapsed sea cave and natural arch are reached along a narrow clifftop path, where care is needed near the edges. Spring and summer bring nesting seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes. North of Peterhead, Loch of Strathbeg offers a different landscape of wetlands, dunes and grassland, with large flocks of pink-footed geese a particular feature in autumn and winter.
