About Glentrool Camping & Caravan Site
Glentrool Camping & Caravan Site sits on the edge of Galloway Forest Park, the UK’s first Dark Sky Park, offering exceptional stargazing and wildlife viewing. The site provides grass tent pitches (backpacker, medium, and large), touring caravan pitches, and motorhome spaces, with optional electric hook‑ups. Facilities include heated toilets and showers, a baby‑changing washroom, laundry, dishwashing area, a communal bothy with kettle, fridge and freezer, free WiFi, a dog‑wash and bike‑wash point, and a motorhome service area. The Southern Upland Way passes within a few hundred yards, and the site is close to the 7Stanes Glentrool mountain bike trails, Loch Trool, Merrick, and the wildlife‑rich forest. It’s a peaceful base for walkers, cyclists, stargazers, and nature lovers.
